This afternoon, my daughter Jackie called me. She was at the Verizon store and calling from a number I didn't recognize. While in Walgreens Drug Store, someone had apparently lifted her cell phone out of the side pocket of her purse while she was dealing with Xander. Fortunately, the phone was insured, but the deductible is ninety nine dollars, which I covered for her. I despise thieves.
Jackie is not having a great day. Here's what she posted on her Facebook page this afternoon:
Today is a no good, horrible, awful very bad day (that's a children's book title). I paid money I don't have to get my teeth drilled and get cheap metal fillings ($90). My whole face was numb for most of the day, now that it is not numb I feel like I have been socked square in the jaw. I stayed up late trying to get my work done so I am exhausted, I fell asleep on my homework and I still don't have everything done. My phone was stolen and I spent half the day (that I could have been using to do homework with) trying to find a solution so someone can call me in case of emergency. Now I have to stay home tomorrow from the last day of Lab to sign for a new one. I lost all my pictures and contact info. All of my accounts are compromised and need new passwords. I am negative in all of my bank accounts. I am frustrated I still can't do any better than a part time minimum wage job. I am exhausted from trying and beating my head against the wall. I am ready to just give up and jump off a bridge. I am failing miserably at life. I am so tired and I hurt all over.
My poor Jackie. She works so hard, but she worries a lot and she sometimes succumbs to pessimism or despair. I'd call her this evening and talk to her except that she is in class this evening and doesn't have her phone.
Shannon is apparently not having a good time right now either. According to Jackie, Shannon called her just before Jackie's class and told Jackie that she couldn't watch Xander for her tonight. Apparently, she ate something that didn't agree with her. When I called Shannon she told me that she's been vomiting and has diarrhea and is trying to get some sleep. I hope she's not too sick.
