The World Line of the Horizon Star

Some would say I was a lost man in a lost world

Montecristo Captain Quixote

(no subject)

I just came back in from sky watching again. I still haven't worked up the initiative to take my sleeping bag out back and roll it out and do this right. Now I have a stiff neck. Maybe tomorrow night. It's a reasonable temperature outside. There are some nocturnal birds out there singing. I have no idea what kind they might be, but they sound nice.

It's pretty nice here now. Livermore, considering it's size, is really not too bad a place to stargaze, provided that you are not right downtown. My back yard is not really optimum. I have already mentioned the tree. The light is a bit bothersome, but it's not so bad that it cuts too much of the starscape. I saw a meteor streak across the sky, so at least the light wasn't too bright to cause me to miss that.

Yak! It's two o'clock in the morning and I'm sitting here eating Peanutbutter Captain Crunch out of the box. Away with you, insomnia. I have a busy day planned for tomorrow. I've got to turn in.

I want Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch...

Well, it is a whole box. I guess I could share.

Do you like stargazing?

Re: Well, it is a whole box. I guess I could share.

Honestly the last time I did any stargazing, we were not copiously blanketed, so it was less fun than it could have been. Mostly I'm just hungry 'cause someone needs to go grocery shopping.

Re: Well, it is a whole box. I guess I could share.

Ha ha. You're in the same boat that I am. I am sitting here, as I type this, trying to get free of what I am working on and trying to get done, in order that I can go to the store and have something to eat today!

ooh. Startgazing is fun.

Absolutely. It's wonderful.

may i have some, too?

man, i haven't had that cereal in, oh, it's been awhile...
stargazing is great...have you thought to take up birding? as in watching birds at night when you can't sleep? try and figure out the nocturnal singers? just wondering...

Re: may i have some, too?

Hey, sure. Plenty in the box! A couple handfuls of Peanutbutter Captain Crunch go a long way.

I've not been seriously into birding. I find it interesting, but haven't really applied myself. I don't know how you'd do that at night -- heh heh, with a nightscope?

Re: may i have some, too?

well, your guess is as good as mine. i just thought it might be something you could do while outside....other than star-gazing, i mean.
do you listen to kfog? did you go to kaboom this weekend?

Yeah, I listen to KFOG

It's a pretty good station. They play great stuff and I'm addicted to 10@10. I was thinking of going to Kaboom, but I just had too much on my plate last weekend.
