Eviscerate your memory

Mind the edge. It's treacherous and the hole is deep. It's been a year this Friday. Yeah, it was messy, and ultimately, it didn't work, but it was mine, it was my place in the sun, and it's gone, now. At the time, I did not think it was too ambitious a desire, something too hard to hold onto, but it became a rope of sand in my grasp.

So, what now? Go where? Build what? Can I, again? Am I looking for something, or just wandering around looking at scenery? Is it too early to know, or am I evading the question?

Build a life. Focus on the friends, hobbies, and job that you have. If you're not happy with those, look for more. Only you can determine what you need...

Good luck.

Build a life. Well, you know, that's a tall order. It's what I thought I was working on but it kind of collapsed. Right now I'm trying to get a handle on some better construction methods.

I'm sorry. I know how you feel... but I don't have any answers.

Ah, but there are answers, somewhere.

The trick is to keep walking in a straight line and keep your eyes open. Sometimes it's easy to doubt one's compass. You pull it out of your pocket and tap it to make sure it returns to north and keep walking.

Re: Ah, but there are answers, somewhere.

You're right. *hug sans slug*

Thanks. I had meant not to post that public, but I wasn't paying attention -- I was only renting. I was bummed, but fortunately those little sneak-attacks of angstiness are getting fewer and farther between, and shorter in duration.

As for a small consolation: they are beautiful.

Yeah, that was home to me. It's been a year, and it still feels a little weird every once in awhile when I think about not seeing them every day.
