This one looks kind of interesting. Most of my interests appear to be "specialist" interests. I'm rather proud of my list. It's not that I went out of my way to pick unusual or rare interests, or ones that nobody else has ever picked before for an interest. I'm not that anal about my "originality." I am who I am, and that is plenty enough original for me. I'm unique, and I'm secure enough in my uniqueness to know it. No, I am proud that the interests I listed, which are by no means comprehensive, nevertheless give a good sumation -- a topological survey of my personality. It is a work of introspection, and not really a simple one, at least in my opinion. These things are the core of the pursuits that occupy my mind, in most cases, or else they are things of which I am very fond, like pizza. It took me awhile to come up with the definitive sampling, but I'm happy with it, just as I am pretty much comfortable with who I am. All of the dissatisfactions and strivings are cases of error correction and perfecting, but the framework is solid and good. I have tried to make of myself a well-rounded individual, a swiss army knife of talents and abilities with interests in sciences, humanities and useful crafts. I entertain fantasies of being a renaissance man, except that my idea of a renaissance man is an updated one, as opposed to the classical idea of the well rounded list of pursuits and skills. I have a love of savoir faire and my personal motto is that of the Renaissance: "Sapiere Audi," "Dare to know."
