Morning/AfternoonAfter packing the suplies and equipment to the gunwhales, it is apparent that the Mitsubishi Lancer is not going to suffice for carrying everything. It appears that it is somewhat smaller inside than the Pontiac Sunfire we went in last year, even though this car seats more comfortably than the Sunfire did when it is full of passengers. We managed to cram ourselves and our gear into the Sunfire last year, but we had decided that an SUV would have been better. The same stunt is just not going to work this year. There is too much equipment sitting on the driveway after packing the car full, to leave it home. We are going to need a bigger car. We went to the bank to check the expedition budget. The funds are available to upgrade the transportation. Next, we went to Enterprise Rental Cars to inquire about an SUV. We learned that one may be available this afternoon.
We went home and called Salt Point to ask about the reservation. The reservation is good until midnight. Taking an SUV will allow us to pack the camp chairs and Crystal's large cast iron kettle, among other things. We then sat back to await a call from Enterprise telling us that they had an SUV available. While I waited, Crystal and the girls went for fast food.
